MicroEnsure is the world’s first and largest insurance intermediary dedicated to serving low income families across the globe. The organisation, founded in 2005 and headquartered in the UK, currently covers 4.5 million people with a range of micro insurance products across life, loan, savings, personal accident, property, weather index, and health categories. We do this by developing and implementing appropriate products and services for our clients, enabling them to address the risks they face in life.
MicroEnsure works in partnership with a host of organizations including microfinance institutions, mobile phone companies, rural banks, retailers, co-operatives, faith-based and humanitarian organisations. MicroEnsure’s services include product and program design, insurance and reinsurance placement, training, marketing development and delivery, sales management, back office management and provider networking. In recognition of its innovations in financial services, the organisation was awarded the 2009 and 2011 Financial Times/IFC Sustainable Finance Award for Achievement in Basic Needs Financing.
The Country Manager is responsible for overseeing the general operations and country performance. In addition, the Country Manager will be quickly groomed to own the sales pipeline, eventually taking on full responsibility for the country's business development. Micro insurance is an emerging industry in Tanzania so MicroEnsure must continue to set the standard for product innovation, business process acumen and service excellence. The Country Manager should develop the capacity and skills of the existing team and new hires to ensure effective delivery of services for new and existing business.
Success for the Country Manager will be defined by 1) quickly forming deep understanding of the micro insurance sector and interfacing with existing and new customers, 2) developing a strong team of Tanzanian professionals who can provide high quality, efficient service to partners and clients and eventually 3) taking full ownership for the country's revenue and business development.
