The U.S. Mission Addis Ababa is seeking an individual for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator in the Facility Management Section of the Embassy.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under the direct supervision of the NEC Mechanical Foreman, the incumbent serves as shift leader for water treatment plant. The water treatment plant operator is responsible for the water plant in order to ensure that employees have safe and clean water. The WTPO also maintains proper water quality for the Embassy swimming pool.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. Required Education: A Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Water Treatment Management is required.
2. Required Experience: One year experience in water treatment with a knowledge of environmental science, or knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and/or of the chemical processes plant and animal organisms, their tissues, cells, functions, interdependencies, and interactions with each other and the environment is required.
Trainee Experience: Six months experience in water treatment with a knowledge of environmental science, or knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and/or of the chemical processes plant and animal organisms, their tissues, cells, functions, interdependencies, and interactions with each other and the environment is required.
3. Language Requirement: Level III (Good working knowledge) of English and Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading of Amharic is required. (English language proficiency will be tested)
4. Other Skills: Incumbent must have knowledge/skill in operation of a variety of lab equipment, pumps, gauges and related power and hand tools; proper safe handling of potentially dangerous chemicals; ability to read and understand installation/service manuals; Skill in calculating material; working outdoors in all types of weather conditions is required.
5. Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, subordinates and other embassy personnel are required.
SELECTION PROCESS
