PURPOSE
The Cross-Border Marketing Manager will drive marketing efforts to protect and grow Cross-Border volumes and revenues for the Africa geography.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop integrated region-wide Cross-border marketing strategy and plan
- Develop compelling integrated Cross-border marketing strategy for Africa Region in alignment with global Cross-border and country strategies and business objectives
- Develop integrated annual marketing plans to drive Cross-border volumes in priority markets/ corridors including online/offline advertising, promotions, POSM events, digital, social, mobile and Client Direct marketing in conjunction with Global, Regional and local Marketing, Product and Acceptance/Merchant and other teams as required.
- Ensure plans are aligned with and effectively communicated to all stakeholders
Drive implementation of regional and country Cross-border marketing plans
- Implement regional cross-border initiatives as per agreed cross-border plan and support country marketing teams and other functions in implementation of agreed country-level cross-border initiatives
- Review the effective implementation of region-wide and country cross-border plans on ongoing basis and provide guidance to regional and country teams to ensure that objectives are achieved. Provide regular status reports to Head of Marketing Africa.
Lead cross-functional teams and liaise with global and other region stakeholders
- Where appropriate, lead cross-functional regional teams, specifically Marketing, Product, Acceptance and Merchant Sales to drive consumer and merchant programmes to achieve Cross-border objectives
- Liaise with Global functions and Visa Regions in strategic corridors to align cross-border plans and leverage cross-border communications platforms, assets and execute client and merchant initiatives
- Build a network of colleagues across the various Visa Region businesses to facilitate effectiveness in role and to foster collaboration
- Provide Cross-border analytics, investment business cases and performance evaluation
- Develop Consumer and Competitive Insight to inform Cross-border strategy and plansLead and support the development and execution of regional and/or global cross-border marketing platforms, programmes and tools
- Develop effective business relationships and co-marketing initiatives with strategic partners

Required:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, payment services, strategic business consultancy or travel sector.
- International marketing experience ideally in electronic payment or travel sector
- Experience of business/marketing strategy and plan development and management of its implementation in a matrix environment
- Expert knowledge, skills and demonstrable track record across a range of functions including marketing, strategy, planning, analytics, partnerships
- Experience of third-party relationship building and development of compelling co-operative programmes
- Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills to successfully influence senior level staff and work with internal and external stakeholders across range of countries
- Self-confident and able to think on their feet in a fast paced, hands-on, change and growth orientated work environment
- Ability to travel when required, mostly within Africa
- Teamwork and relationship-building skills

- Related University degree
Preferred:
- Related degree, MBA preferred
