ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as liaison of FXB Tanzania at the MOHSW to strengthen productive, collaborative working relationships with MOHSW-PMTCT program.
• Support timely and effective communication between FXB Tanzania and the MOHSW-PMTCT program.
• Develop and maintain effective communication and excellent working relationships with funders, partners and stakeholders involved in HIV prevention, care, treatment and support.
• Provide assistance and support for FXB-Tanzania activities, e.g., semiannual implementing partners meetings, meetings to train healthcare workers on use of PMTCT materials, etc.
• Serve as the focal person at FXB-Tanzania for monitoring and evaluation
• Support effective monitoring and evaluation of training and other activities under the direction of the FXB Country Director and the FXB Director for Research and Evaluation
• Assist in identifying technical assistance needs regarding monitoring and evaluation
• Coordinate the activities of the PMTCT website advisory group
• Update the PMTCT resource website on a regular basis to reflect recent advances in the field of PMTCT
• Prepare written reports and carry out activities in accordance with assigned deadlines
• Work collaboratively and function as an effective team member of the FXB-Tanzania office
• Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Master’s degree or higher in health-related field;
2. At least three years work experience in a health-related field; work experience with the MOHSW preferred
3. Technical knowledge and understanding of health systems, structures and clinical services that compose reproductive and child health programs in Tanzania
4. Understanding of monitoring and evaluation, continuous quality improvement, performance indicators.
5. Experience with program monitoring and evaluation.
6. Experience in the field of HIV required; specific experience in PMTCT desired
7. Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills
8. Experience working with other implement partners
9. Fluency in English and Kiswahili; strong English language written and oral communication skills.
10. Computer competence in Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web and email systems; understanding of standard office equipment. Experience with additional database programs desirable.
11. Excellent writing and communication skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel within Tanzania as needed
