Our client, a medium sized organisation with interests in hospitality, real estate, agriculture amongst others is looking to recruit a Group Company Secretary / Human Resource Manager.
Reporting to the Group General Manager the Group Company Secretary/Human Resource Manager will be responsible for providing company secretarial, legal and human resource management services to the organisation.
Key Accountabilities for this role include:
Company Secretarial:
- Managing the Board and AGM process, organising, preparing agendas for, and taking minutes of board meetings and annual general meetings (AGMs); maintaining statutory books, including registers of members, directors and secretaries; dealing with correspondence, collating information and writing reports, ensuring decisions made are communicated to the relevant company stakeholders, etc.
- Providing legal services, contributing to meeting discussions and advising management of the legal and governance implications of proposed policies; monitoring changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and taking appropriate action; liaising with external regulators and advisers, such as lawyers and auditors; developing and overseeing the systems that ensure the company complies with all applicable codes, as well as its legal and statutory requirements and ensuring all internal documents, policies and procedures manuals reviewed for legal compliance in a timely and effective manner.
Human Resource:
- Develop human resource policies and create effective supporting processes that deliver HR services in the areas of manpower planning and recruitment; deployment; performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, learning and development; reward and employee relations quickly, efficiently, and in a timely manner to country and business managers and employees in the region of operation.
- Supervise the HR Assistant in the execution of HR processes, including record keeping, leave management, payroll and benefits administration, recruitment and induction administration
Position Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 2 years of two years as a company secretary, with at least 5 years work experience in a legal or human resource management position.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and ensure timely coordination and delivery of demanding priorities.
- Demonstrable track record of consistent achievement of performance targets within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to deal sensitively with people at all levels
- Be highly organised, paying close attention to detail and have effective time management skills
- Have a proven ability in planning and organizing to deliver outcomes within stipulated time frames
Remuneration: The starting salary for this position will be KShs 150,000 gross per month, plus benefits. The package is negotiable dependant on experience and demonstrable contribution.
