Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College a constituent College of Tumaini University in Collaboration with Duke University Medical Centre, wishes to announce wishes to recruit competent and committed human resources to fill the post for A Data Manager for the Medical Education Partnership initiative (MEPI) at the KCMC Campus.
DATA MANAGER Position Description
The data manager will be available to assist medical students, trainees and faculty with the implementation and analysis of MEPI mentored research projects. He/she will have skills in creating databases, designing study forms, data entry, quality assurance/quality control activities, and data analysis.
Key job Responsibilities.
- Develop and implement data management quality assurance/quality control activities.
- Assist MEPI investigators with creation and use of databases for MEPI Mentored Training and Research projects.
- Assist MEPI investigators and administrative staff to administer individual or group standardized tests; score tests by hand or machine using predetermined scoring formulas; observe test subjects and report behavior and other information that may affect test results. Conduct interviews following an outline on questionnaires and
record anawers; compile information and report to investigators.
- Compile and verify the accuracy of research information to determine acceptability based on quality criteria defined by control procedures; abstract, classify and code data.
- Develop forms and questionnaires and maintain a database to track and monitor data collection.
- Prepare and maintain files for data and assist with M&E
- Conduct interviews following an outline on questionnaires and record answers; compile information and report to investigators.
- Work with the librarian to search library reference materials for necessary research materials; compile and edit indices. Prepare and maintain files of research materials; compile and edit indices.
- Confer with principal investigator in developing plans for research projects and to discuss the interpretation of results and the preparation of manuscripts for publication.
- Assist in the compilation and distribution of reports related to research findings.
Remuneration and Terms of Employment:-
- This post will attract a Competitive salary to a right candidate.
- Subject to successful performance, a two (2) yearly
Contract with maximum period five (5) years will be offered to the successful Candidate with probationary period of Six (6) months.
Qualification:-
Educational background in Bachelors degree in Biostatistics and or Epidemiology with at least 2 years experience. Masters degree in biostatics or epidemiology would be preferred.
Working knowledge of statistical software e.g. Stata, JMP, Epi info, SAS, SPSS etc.
Working knowledge of MS office especially, MS Access and MS Excel.
