To develop and deliver programmes for the following Majors: Accounting, and Human Resource Management.
The Bachelor of Business (BBus) is a four year degree, currently in its second year of implementation at Bahrain Polytechnic. As the degree programme enters its senior years, we are requiring experienced educators to take on a leadership role to develop courses specific to their Major (ie Accounting, or Human Resource Management). The Curriculum Leaders will be responsible for ensuring streamlining of the courses within their Major, and working with other Curriculum Leaders to ensure courses are coordinated across all Majors.
Key components of each Curriculum Leader role include:
- Researching and developing best practice curricula for a specific Major, that is also consistent with strategic goals of Bahrain Polytechnic, Faculty and School
- Leading a team of subject tutors to develop and deliver exemplary courses through all levels of the degree
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with Industry to ensure our graduates meet industry's needs.
Curriculum Leaders will also be required to teach, with the intended work breakdown to be 0.8 development work and 0.2 tutoring. The ratio of teaching/non-teaching time may change in the future, depending on the needs of the Business School. The Bahrain Polytechnic uses a problem based learning approach in all its teaching. Our Lecturers are referred to as 'Tutors' as they are facilitators of learning.
