BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER
African Barrick Gold’s North Mara Gold Mine is looking to employ an experienced Business Improvement Manager. This position reports to the General Manager and the incumbent will be responsible to lead, direct and coordinate the Business Improvement initiatives across the mine site.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Articulating and reinforcing the vision, strategy and principles associated with the ABG culture and business improvement initiatives
• Coaching the site leadership in the implementation of ABG BI systems and processes
• Deploy standard BI tools and techniques to support improvement initiatives
• Educating management and staff improvement teams in the problem solving tools and techniques that will be used to realize these results, and supporting the effective deployment of these tools and techniques
• Coordintaion of BI initiatives and projects ensuring that progress is maintained through application of structured problem solving techniques, regular progress reviews and timely reporting
• Integrate BI principles into induction and other relevant employee development programmes
• Ensure effective implementation and management of suggestion systems
• Initial project focus: Cost culture awareness, critical spares action plan, mine planning process map & stope utilization mapping
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Education Requirements:
• Recognized tertiary qualification
• A formal qualification in Business Improvement or systems development will be advantageous
Experience Requirements:
• Have a disposition to lead change
• Demonstrable achievement in a senior management role
• Ability to think “outside the box” and create an innovative environment
• Excellent communication, role-model presentation and software/system development skills
• Strong business acumen, change management, project management and facilitation skills
