Senior Technical Officer, HIV Prevention ROADS II Project in Djibouti

Position Description:

On behalf of the ROADS Djibouti office provide technical leadership in adapting/designing innovative HIV prevention strategies and tools for use in the country, with behavioral, structural and bio-medical components and a strong focus on community ownership and leadership.  The Senior Technical Officer, HIV Prevention will report to the Country Manager, ROADS II, Djibouti, but will have lead responsibility for ensuring ROADS II strategic behavioral communication approaches are appropriately adapted for the local context.

 

The Senior Technical Officer, HIV Prevention ROADS II Project will:

• Provide technical oversight in the design, development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of HIV prevention program in liaison with the Executive Secretariat for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Ministry of Health/PLS Santé and civil society.
• Provide desk and on-site technical oversight to of HIV prevention programming and referral linkages to facility- and community-based HIV services.
• Participate in resource development and other tasks on assigned area activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimal Requirements:

 

BS/BA in public health or related field, and 7-9 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS and/or family planning with international development programs.  Overseas field experience required; or MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field, and 5 - 7 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS and/or family planning with international development programs with overseas field experience or PhD, MD or similar degree with 3 - 5 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS and/or family planning with international development programs.
