The CDC Tanzania Strategic Information (SI) Branch is responsible for HIV surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, and related health information systems actiivties. Staff work closely with staff in all programmatic branches ( Prevention, Clinical Services, Lab) as well as the Health Systems Strengthening/Human and Institutional Capacity Development Branch. They are active participants in numerous interagency techincal working groups and support CDC's many implementation partners, including both United Republic of Tanzania and Zanizibar AIDS Programs.
The SI Branch Chief reports to the Associate Director of Programs and works closely with the Country Director. The SI Branch chief is an integral member of the senior leadership team. This wil be one of the last branches to transition to Tanzanian leadership with senior technical support provided by USG direct hire or contract staff and one of the objectives for the new SI Chief will be to identify and develop the leadership potenital of multiple talented individiuals in this branch.
