Agricultural Innovation Specialist, Kenya
We are currently looking for an Agricultural Innovation Specialist for an upcoming multi-year USAID-funded program in Kenya. The program will harness the power of innovative private sector approaches to agricultural solutions by seeking out high-impact innovations and supporting their broad adoption across key regions, thereby accelerating efforts to address poverty and food security needs in Kenya. The position is contingent upon ACDI/VOCA being awarded the program.
Responsibilities:
• Lead all agriculture-related technical assistance on the project.
• Develop partnerships with agricultural stakeholders to identify and select innovations and technologies.
• Support the commercialization and scale-up of selected agricultural innovations.
• Work with agricultural value chain stakeholders to increase their knowledge and adoption of new agricultural technologies supported by the project.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in agricultural development or related field (technical agriculture, agricultural economics, rural sociology, etc.) is required
• At least seven years of private sector agricultural or similar experience
• Strong record of success in developing partnerships with the private sector

Procurement and Office Manager, Kenya
We are currently seeking Procurement and Office Manager for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Kenya. The program will focus on testing innovative drying and storage technologies, leverage partners to commercialize these technologies, and scale storage technologies that will reduce aflatoxin contamination and post-harvest losses at the smallholder farmer level. These activities are part of the Partnership for Aflatoxin Control in Africa (PACA) and implemented by ACDI/VOCA and ASI. The Procurement and Office Manager will handle all aspects of the administrative, HR, procurement and operations of the project. The Procurement and Office Manager will be the final point of review and signatory for all administrative and financial requests before they are submitted to the Program Manager and will ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Program Manager in the daily management of office and program operations including but not limited to: HR, procurement, grants management, office administration, and monitoring the timely submission of reports.
• Maintain strict adherence to USAID rules and regulations (particularly with regards to procurement), ACDI/VOCA policies and procedures, and Kenyan local laws. Raise any issues of potential concern to the Program Manager and ACDI/VOCA HQ as necessary, coordinate with ACDI/VOCA’s Program Awards and Compliance office as necessary, and maintain proper lines of authority for approval.
• Provide oversight for all administrative files to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with award terms and conditions. For example, ensuring timekeeping files are adequately managed, procurement files are complete, and procurement is finalized and well documented.
• Contribute to program reporting, monitoring, and support the Program Manager in the coordination of the Kenyan program and finance team.
Qualifications
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in management or related field is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing office operation and demonstrated understanding of and experience with USAID policies and procedures, including but not limited to 22 CFR 226 and OMB Circular A-122.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili required.
• Experience working in Kenya agricultural programs, including direct experience with community and agricultural training programs highly preferred.

Finance Manager, Kenya
• Carry out the financial management of ACDI/VOCA and ASI project funds and ensure compliance with policies and procedures in accordance with ACDI/VOCA, ASI and donor requirements.
• Make sure there are proper accounting/fiscal controls and procedures for all accounting areas per ACDI/VOCA, ASI and donor requirements.
• Ensure that regular budget reconciliations and tracking between the field and HQ is carried out for all program funding sources.
• Manage program procurements/purchases, including document review and approval and ensuring support documentation requirements are met; ensure procurements/purchases are within budget.
• Carry out regular financial tracking of the program expenditures against the budget and sub-recipient funds each month, including conducting a pipeline analysis.
• Review accounting vouchers (payment and journal) ensuring all supportive documentation requirements are met and signed. Review monthly financial reports (OSCARs). Specifically, review expenses/financial transactions according to code classification and bank reconciliations of the program bank account. Review bank statements and ensure the account balances are accurate and reconcile with ending report balances.
• Maintain proper internal controls over the receipt, disbursement, and management of all financial resources.
• Monitor compliance with approved budgets and donor regulations and prepare financial analyses needed by the Program Manager and program staff to effectively manage operating and project funds.
• Prepare and submit the monthly financial report, supporting documentation, field cash reconciliation and cash projections for the next month to the Program Manager for approval.
• Coordinate with the Program Manager and U.S. based accounting division and program staff to ensure that the Field Office’s financial and administrative matters are executed efficiently.
Qualifications
• University degree in Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, Agriculture Economics or any other related field;
• Experience in a computerized environment and a good working knowledge of an accounting package – including QuickBooks, and MS Office packages.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong accounting knowledge. USDA/USAID experience expected (22 CFR Part 226; OMB Circular A-122 & A-133; Subgrant Management);
• At least 5 years working experience in financial management. Agricultural experience, including direct experience with community and agricultural training programs preferred;
