We are currently searching for a qualified project superintendent to provide input to optimising safe extraction of ore and waste at the North Mara Gold mine operation through the development of sound plans and schedules and the supervision and control of mining department employees and contractors – within the constraints of agreed capital and operating budgets and with due responsibility to the environment.
Qualifications/Skills
Essential
- 10 to 15 years experience in mining infrastructure construction (water ponds, dam walls, pads, roads)
- Knowledge in open pit mining supervision and management
- Sound knowledge of mining and civil engineering concepts
- Computer literacy
- Full driving license
- Office and document control/organisation skills

Financial | · Managing expenditure within the department through close supervision of contractors, control of labour employed, control of expenditure on parts, equipment, consumables and services and control of all sources of loss within the department. |
Communications | · Maintaining a high company profile within the community, industry and statutory bodies with respect to the law, occupational health and safety, environmental harmony and employment practices · Participating in and signing off on weekly, monthly and yearly budgets · Controlling the mining department via a daily review and planning meeting with all direct subordinates, representatives of contractors and other clients · Ensuring all company communication is duly conveyed to all contractors · Maintaining adequate records and reporting production, costs, safety and loss control and employee skill levels within the department |
