- Job purpose:
Underthe direct supervision of the IMIS Project Manager and the overall supervisionof the Head of MIS, the Finance SAP Expert shall be responsible for direction,planning, support and management of all finance activities related to SAPFinance support and development. His/her functions shall include support andmaintaining a professional system of financial accounting, records keeping andreporting to ensure an effective and transparent administration of PBFAdirectorate.
3. Majorduties and responsibilities:
Ø Generalfunctional support to end users on recurrent Finance systems problems.
Ø Trainingof end users and new staff in Finance.
Ø Preparationand updating of business process procedures.
Ø Continuousbusiness process improvements and streamlining business processes byestablishing additional controls.
Ø Supportto Technical Team when developing or enhancing reports, Smart Forms andworkflows.
Ø Testingfor new functionalities and developments in Finance.
Ø Additionof new functionalities and enhancements in Finance modules as per businessrequirements.
Ø Generationand extraction of special and strategic reports.
Ø Ensuringof data integrity in the system.
Ø Rollout and support activities for Regional Offices.
Ø Provideguidance and advice to Management on SAP Matters.
Ø Reviewand improve financial records and monitoring processes to ensure efficient andeffective systems
Ø Ensureproper functioning of the AUC Accounting System
Ø Maintaina financial reporting calendar and ensure timely preparation of all financialreports
Ø Provideadvice and ensure compliance with financial regulations and other determinedfinancial policies
Ø Ensurethat accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systemsare functioning and that all relevant records are maintained accurately
Ø Promotebest practices, transparency, accountability and appropriate working systems
Ø Ensureeffective and efficient utilization of financial resources
Ø PrepareFinancial Statements for consideration of the Commission, Member States andPartners as well as internal/external auditors
Ø Preparethe year-end financial statements which form part of the annual financialreports
Ø Perform any other relevant duty/ responsibilityassigned.
- Qualifications and experience required:
· Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting,Financial Management or Commerce.
· Aprofessional qualification in Accounting such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA orequivalent from a recognized Institution will be an added advantage.
· Candidatesmust also be SAP FI/CO Certified.
5. Work experience Required:
· Candidatesmust have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in Accounting,Auditing and/ or Financial Management.
· Candidatesmust have a minimum of 3 years SAP FI/CO work experience.
· Experience in SAP Fund Management and TravelManagement is essential.
6. Other Relevant SkillsRequired:
- Financialmanagement and analytical skills in a Donor funded environment;
- Knowledgeof funding and other resource mobilization mechanisms;
- Developmentof procedures and Computerized System design and implementation skills;
- Excellentinterpersonal, report writing and communication skills;
- Excellentcomputer skills with practical knowledge of and experience in accountingsoftwares
7. Language requirement: Proficiency in one of the African Union working languagesis a requirement; Knowledge of one or more of the other AU working languageswould be an added advantage.
- Age requirement: Candidates must preferably be between 25 and 35 years old.
- Tenure of Appointment:
The appointment will be for aninitial period of one (1) year renewable subject to satisfactory performanceand availability of fund.
