JOB PURPOSE:
In provide clinical support and supervision to the clinical teams in the provision of quality and timely medical services, strengthening palliative care knowledge, skills and competencies, and ensuring that lire management of clinical services is in line with HAU policies and procedures and acceptable medical standards and practices.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Middle manager supporting the Clinical Director, Health Services Coordinator and teams in developing and maintaining provision of quality palliative care.
• Directly provides palliative care, consultations, follow-up and referrals to patients and their families, including management of emergencies and complex cases.
• Identify training needs of the clinical team, and be actively Involved in their education/ training, development, supportive supervision and mentorship.
• Support and manage the medical officers and nurses in accordance with the existing policies and procedures.
• Support Clinical Director with management of the department Including monitoring, evaluation, planning & implementation of activities
• Take a lead on doing audits and research
• Development and improvement of programs, programs and policies within the Clinical department.
• Assist HSC and CD in preparing monthly and annual clinical department reports in accordance with HAU guidelines.

Requirement:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Advanced level Clinician
* Master of Internal Medicine or Paediatrics or Family medicine is mandatory.
* Knowledge or competences in public health or biostatistics or epidemiology are desirable.
* Must be committed to developing a career in Palliative Medicine.
* Must be ready to undertake further specialist level training in Palliative Medicine at an Education Institution out of Uganda.
