Position: Citizen Voice Action Facilitator (1 position) Reports to: Project Manager Duty station: Kiboga
Project: 3 projects under the Programme Partnership Agreement (PPA)
Purpose of the position: To implement the activities of the Social Accountability Project in Kiboga and Kywankwanzi Districts and ensure the timely delivery of project activities leading to the expected outputs and outcomes
Key Result Areas:
• Implement project activities in line with the project design documents.
• Design weekly work plan and discuss with line manager.
• Build the capacities of staff and other stakeholders in the community.
• Establish and support networks at sub-county and district levels and collect most significant change stories, community gathering action plans among other M&E information.
• Enter data into the CVA database and produce monthly project reports
• Carry out assessment on community understanding of empowerment, government policies, social and accountability.
• Support cluster staff in programming for CVA activities outside the project if applicable.
Job requirement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Bachelors Degree in a development related field.
• Knowledge in advocacy, of CVA methodology is an added advantage
• Strong facilitation and communication skills
• Knowledge of community or group dynamics
• Knowledge of basics of the policies, good governance.
• Experience in working with community partners such as community-based organisations
Position: Child Protection Facilitator (1 position)
Reports to: Project Manager Duty station: Kiboga

Purpose of the position: To implement the activities of the Child Protection Project in Kiboga and Kywankwanzi Districts in collaboration with the community-based formal and informal Child Protection structures.
Key Result Areas:
• Implement project activities in line with project design documents.
• Design weekly work plan and discuss with line manager.
• Build the capacities of staff and other stakeholders in the community
• Establish and support networks at sub-county and district levels.
• Enter data into the project database and produce monthly project reports
• Support cluster staff in programming for Child Protection activities outside the project if applicable
Job requirement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must have a University degree in development, law, social sciences, policy science, and/or a related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have proven advocacy experience
• Strong understanding of child protection issues in Uganda and the national legal framework
• Experience and knowledge of working with children (meaningful child participation), communities and partners
• Ability to influence, network and collaborate with national level government, CBO, NGO and UN agency child protection peers
Position: Hygiene and Sanitation Officer
(1 position)
Reports to: Regional Coordinator WASH
Duty station: Gulu
Project: Uganda Water Sanitation & Hygiene (UWASH)
Purpose of the position: To give technical support and capacity building to the sanitation and hygiene issues in the Region and to network the sector with various stakeholders to achieve the World Vision's project objectives.
Major responsibilities:
• Develop hygiene awareness training and roll out plan and ensure that it is implemented
• Work with the respective teachers of every targeted school in carrying out hygiene activities in the schools and the community
• Cultivate linkage with the relevant institutions and programs (Ministry of Health, District Health Service, District Education Office, WASH and Health working groups at District level), in accordance to the WVU policies
• Participate in the development of strategies for long term or additional interventions, including preparation of new proposals.
• Compile and submit hygiene and sanitation reports to the Regional Coordinator and other partners where applicable
Job requirement
Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
• A degree in Public Health from a recognised University
• Experience in implementing health, and WASH related activities of not less than two years, preferably within an NGO
• Very strong facilitation and communication skills
• Good Computer skills and ability to write technical reports
Position: Project Officer (1 position)
Report to: Project Manager
Location: Kotido
Project: Kotido District Improved Education
Duration: 1&1/4 years left
Role of the Position:
To implement all project activities in the designated area and promote appreciation of the importance of education amongst Kotido population, and improve adaptability of education to pastoralist lifestyle, in line with Government of Uganda (GoU) and WVU/donor guidelines.
Key Result Areas:
• Mobilisation of the target community groups/ beneficiaries for participation under the different activities,
• Monitor the achievements against the indicators of the log frame
• Conduct most of the trainings to be implemented during the project.
• Coordinate sensitization campaigns on the value of education among the target community, and represent World Vision at the stakeholder meetings in the District.
• Work with the stakeholders especially local government and civil society, to build relationships and consensus
• Draft monthly reports on project progress and of track field expenditure against the outputs, budget and implementation plan.
• Ensure the project is implemented according to the project document and within LEAP guidelines and according to WVI regulations.
Job requirement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Degree in Education, Social Work & Social Administration, development, management or related field
• 2 years or more experience of relief and development work. Previous experience with implementing education projects among pastoralist communities is an added advantage.
• Experience of assessment, planning and implementation of development and emergency projects.
• Relevant teamwork experience and good interpersonal skills. Ability to work sensitively with people from a variety of social backgrounds.
• Knowledge of the local language is an added advantage
