Regional (East Africa) Health Adviser with a focus on Maternal and Child Health

The Regional (East Africa) Health Adviser will provide AusAID with high quality technical health advice with a particular focus on maternal and child health (MCH) to assist AusAID to contribute effectively to improved MCH outcomes in East Africa and the Horn. Reporting to the First Secretary, Development, in Addis Ababa, the Adviser will play the lead technical role to develop and implement the $140 million Australia-Africa Maternal and Child Health Initiative in Eastern Africa.
Annual salary range US$119,320 – 150,000, negotiable plus accommodation, school education and other allowances.
Selected applicants will be required to participate in a two day assessment centre in Addis in late November, with necessary travel costs covered by AusAID.
It is a prerequisite that applicants can demonstrate experience showing a good understanding of bilateral development aid mechanisms and working at ministerial policy level. Previous applicants will be considered and need not re-apply.
