International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs.

PROGRAM BACKGROUND International Medical Corps implemented a WASH project in Upper Nile State in South Sudan, with the aim of delivering concrete improvements in water and sanitation facilities for residents of Ulang, Baliet, Malakal, and Maban Counties.
JOB SUMMARY The primary function of the Program Coordinator includes managing the WASH program activities in accordance with the grant.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Manage the WASH program activities including budget and ensure that all work is completed within the specified timeframe and to a high standard
2.Conduct community assessments and make recommendations about the needs and vulnerabilities of targeted populations in relation to water, sanitation and hygiene issues.
3.Develop and implement standard Watsan designs, using appropriate technology where possible
4.Recruit, mentor and manage staff. Mentor the community WASH committees.
5.Develop and maintain working relationships and coordinate with relevant international and local agencies engaged in similar activities in Republic of South Sudan, including the government authorities, UN and other NGOs
6.Actively engage beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of the project.
7.To promote community participation and ownership through liaising with the beneficiary communities, establishing, training and supporting water user/sanitation committees and ensuring that activities are as transparent as possible
8.To carry out any other duties as requested by supervisor
REQUIREMENTS
1.Bachelor or Master’s Degree in civil engineering, water Resources management, water treatment technologies or related field. 2.Previous experience of implementing rural water and sanitation projects, with at least 3-5 years of relevant project management experience. 3.Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to plan projects, timetable agreed activities and oversee activities 4.Understanding of participatory methodologies for project design, implementation and evaluation. 5.Experience working with host governments, INGOs and national NGOs and familiarity with international humanitarian operations 6.Good organizational and project management skills and the ability to anticipate project needs. 7.Proven ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment
