Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) is the biggest Airport in East and Central Africa, and is the focal point for major aviation activity in the region. Its importance as an aviation centre makes it the pacesetter for other airports in the region.
In order for JKIA to achieve its vision of becoming the “Airport hub of Choice’ we are looking for an individual to fill the position of Airport Manager.
The jobholder will be required to provide leadership in order to facilitate development of innovative practices for enhancing business growth, customer experience, safety and security of passengers and airport users in line with the International Aviation Standards, recommended practices and the Strategic objectives of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Main Responsibilities:

The jobholder will be required to provide leadership in order to facilitate development of innovative practices for enhancing business growth, customer experience, safety and security of passengers and airport users in line with the International Aviation Standards, recommended practices and the Strategic objectives of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust and strategic partnerships with airport stakeholders for effective and efficient delivery of airport services.
- Ensure achievement of strategic objectives of the organization.
- Participate in the development, implementation and review of the Airport Master Plan.
- Ensure serviceability of equipment, facilities and the infrastructure at all times.
- Develop and implement product and service delivery strategies in consultation with marketing and other stakeholders to meet customer needs
- Prepare, implement and monitor the Airport’s operating and Capital budgets
- Prepare and implement Business Development Plans in consultation with marketing and other stakeholders to enhance growth
- Manage and direct the implementation and compliance of civil aviation standards and recommended practices in facilitation, security and safety and other regulatory and statutory audits.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of capital investments and expansion programmes
- Provide leadership to department heads within the airport including motivating the workforce.
- Ensure the effective implementation, maintenance and sustainability of the Quality management system and customer service standards.
- Develop and monitor service level agreements with service providers and internal departments.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- A first degree in marketing, business administration, engineering, aviation, legal studies, humanities and social sciences or any other related studies.
- Masters degree from a recognized university with a bias towards strategic management, aviation related program or Business studies
- Minimum 15 years experience ten (10) of which must have served at a senior management level as either Head of a department or a Business unit in a large sized commercial environment with customer service orientation
- Computer literacy
