EngenderHealth is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates to be based in and lead an anticipated new project in Tanzania (Shinyanga City, Kyela, Temeke, Mbeya City, Kahama) to reduce HIV among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW).
The Program Manager must possess an advanced degree in public health or a related field.
S/he must have extensive management experience with a minimum of eight years’ experience with progressively increasing responsibility in designing, managing and implementing complex, large scale public health interventions in low resource settings involving multiple stakeholders.
S/he must also have management skills and experience, including relevant experience in direct supervision of senior professional staff, financial management of complex projects, and capacity strengthening of local public sector and civil society partners.
Experience with biomedical HIV prevention including antiretroviral therapies (ideally pre-exposure prophylaxis to reduce HIV among AGYW), and/or with youth programming, innovative demand creation for health services among AGYW, social and behavior change communication, peer health education, or community engagement, is preferred.
In addition, experience overseeing the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems for complex interventions is highly desired.
The candidate must be Tanzanian, and have the requisite management expertise, interpersonal skills, and experience in direct supervision of professional staff.
Fluency in spoken and written English and Kiswahili is a requirement.
