Local team Role:
- Provide technical leadership and insights at the local level.
- Implement and execute comprehensive field testing program for agronomics, germplasm and traits.
- FACT testing for Corn, and Cotton
- Determine and demonstrate the value, positioning, and agronomic fit of commercial and pipeline products (germplasm and traits).
- Agronomic trials – used for training and SY trials and Stewardship.
- Lead local product positioning and training of Monsanto Sales force and distributors in order to support sales at sub team level
- Provide local technical leadership for demand forecast process.
- Assist with performance inquiries requiring advanced agronomic and product knowledge.
- Customer interaction with key customers (farmers / Retailers)
- Investigation of Product complaints
- Coordination of seed production, including contractor recruitment, production operations and quality control.
Technical Product Leads/ Focus Area Lead:
- Evaluate new germplasm
- Develop protocols and field testing programs for local needs.
Identify and assess new technology based business opportunities and provide leadership on selected projects.
Seed production role:
- Recruitment and Contracting of tolling partners.
- Collaborate with local Seed production contractor on the planting, growing, detasseling, harvesting and processing of hybrid seed.
- Ensure field quality control and seed testing before the release of the produced seed
- Close collaboration with the local customer operations team to ensure timely delivery of produced seed.
- Ensure the timely delivery of input materials i.e. packaging material and seed treatment to the involved seed processing contractors.
External
- Build relationships with academia and other key 3rd parties.
- Liaise with Seed certification authorities during the production of hybrid seed.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Strong Agronomical and experimentation knowledge. Good overall computer skills and use of statistical analysis tool.
- Minimum Bachelor of Science education level (if strong experience), preferably Master of Science level or higher;
- Two to five years experience, with demonstrated success in applied field research
- Preferable Good knowledge of row crops
- Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-based environment;
- Desire to work in the field and to use computer-based applications for data capture and data analytics;
- Must be self-motivated and assertive with a results orientation.
- The position will include regular travel within Tanzania, Africa and International.
