Project Officer - Child Protection (2 Positions)
The Paralegal Aid Centre Shinyanga (PACESH) is a voluntary non-governmental, nonpartisan and non-profit making organization, registered in 2006. PACESH started its work in 1996 under the umbrella of Women Legal Aid Centre (WLAC}.lts vision and mission and goals are geared toward a just society that recognizes observers and respects the right of women and children in the country. PACESH is recruiting a Project Officer for its Violence Against Children (VAC) project to be based at its Shinyanga office.
Job purpose: The Child Protection Project Officer (CPPO) will form part of PACESHI team in Shinyanga and responsible for ensuring effective programme planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting as per project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The project officer will be responsible for ensuring that the programme approaches, objectives and goals are well understood and implemented accordingly and that project information is accurately and promptly communicated to PACESHI. The project Officer will also be coordinating and conducting trainings with other stakeholders and children on various child protection related matters such as children without appropriate care, positive discipline with parents and teachers, etc. and safeguarding, to develop capacities to deliver the programme in the most effective way. Supervising Child Protection Team to gather and analyze data for project monitoring and evaluation as stipulated in the project M&E plan. Facilitating regular joint field visits as part of backstopping to Child Protection Team to assist in implementing agreed work plans. Strengthening communication and collaboration with Local Government Agencies (LGA) at all levels to ensure ownership and sustainability of the programme, advocating for a comprehensive and sustainable child protection system at all levels. Supporting and ensuring effective programme implementation and compile timely quarterly progress reports regarding the VAC project. Be responsible for gathering the learning from the VAC project, including ensuring of documentation and dissemination of good practices across the project.
Required Qualifications and Specification
Minimum of a bachelor in Social Sciences, law or its equivalent from an-accredited institution, must have excellent communication skills with understanding and commitment to principles of child rights and child protection with proven ability in delivering results. Experience working with a multicultural organization is desirable.
