Job Description | Tasks: • Contribute to the technical work of the EQUIP-T team of experts working on quality improvement of school leadership and quality assurance of schools • Work closely with governmental bodies, including ADEM, and CSOs, to ensure improvement in leadership and inspection services • Perform capacity building activities and act as a mentor to ADEM, and regional institutions • Assist Councils in the development of a performance framework for head-teachers, including performance-based rewards, sanctions and promotions, and the introduction and activation of effective and transparent performance management and accountability systems • Assist Councils in the development of new recruitment, employment and career progression procedures and standards for head-teachers, • Support Regional teams in the development of guidelines and guidebooks for the selection and performance management of teachers and head teachers and for school inspections • Assist Regional quality assurance bodies in developing a classroom focused inspection methodology • Model classroom focused inspections and act as a mentor to inspection officers • Develop and manage capacity building programmes for school inspectors • Promote the use of information technology for quality assurance, reporting and training purposes in school leadership, management and inspection • Assist local authorities in designing mechanisms for making school evaluation and inspection reports available to communities in suitable formats • Ensure lesson learning and sharing of experience and best practice in school leadership and inspection across the Regions Results Improved learning outcomes of students as a result of effective and performance-oriented leadership and management of schools. |
Candidate Specification | Knowledge, essential competencies, skills and qualifications: • Degree in education planning, teacher development or relevant field • Proven experience of working with government and donor-funded programmes in a developing country context • Proven experience of leading capacity building activities, designing training programmes, developing training materials • Experience in school improvement, leadership or management programmes APPLY |
