Position Description:
Interested person has to be an entrepreneurial and result oriented person who can be able to develop proposals, concepts and business ideas for self motivation and Organizational benefit
a) As membership service coordinator, the prospect will be responsible for:
I. Develop creative and innovative lobbying tactics in coordination with other appropriate members, maintaining information flow within the Association and between the Association and stakeholders;
II. Planning, organizing and coordinating media events, including press conferences, press releases, and other media engagements including writing articles and posts
III. Identifying and pursuing Association communication development needs, ensuring content on the Association official social Medias, blogs and website is regularly updated and maintained.
IV. Performing other duties as to be assigned by the project coordinator, chairman or secretary of TGFA
a) As Advocacy Officer:
- Anticipate possible advocacy developments and outcomes and prepare contingency plans and strategy adjustments (i.e. a bill gets passed right before the big call-in day),be an active leader in and build of own chapter and use it to raise awareness, raise funds for Agriculture and advocate policy solutions to Members.
- assist in Provide input on TGFA programming so that all campaigns include effective advocacy foci, strategies, tactics, goals, and messaging, Support and Monitor projects including preparation of project briefs and provision of logistical and administrative support;
· Monitor legislative and policy trends and advise Association on policy engagement; Prepare briefs on policies;Incorporate processes for tracking and measuring advocacy efforts (i.e. how many people called in on this call-in day?)
· Help Identify and prepare proposals and concept notes on advocacy issues affecting farming and farmers in Tanzania, draft background papers and statements for Association Management.
· Represent the Association at advocacy meetings, events and other activities if called upon to do so.
