Purpose of Job
To locally manage the delivery of a project on language supportive textbooks and pedagogy that is led by the University of Bristol and managed in Rwanda by the British Council to meet the British Council’s objectives and targets with respect to its role in the project and partner expectations in the UK.

Context and Environment
The Ministry of Education in Rwanda has approved twenty six projects under its Innovation for Education Scheme, the aim of which is to test new ideas to improve the quality of education in Rwandan schools. The University of Bristol is leading a project on language supportive textbooks and pedagogy in partnership with the British Council Rwanda, the Rwanda Publishers and Booksellers Association and the Kigali Institute of Education. Responsibility for the day to day management of the project will be undertaken by the British Council in Rwanda which has operated in the country for over four years, built up a staff complement of more than twenty personnel and recently moved into new premises in Kigali.

Some evening and weekend work is required.
