To support our vision of dramatically improving the lives of the poor, Living Goods is seeking an Area Sales Manager to establish, manage and lead our new branches and direct sales agents in the Nairobi area. Responsibilities
- Establish Several Branch Outlets in and around Nairobi: Research and choose locations; arrange, equip and open premises.
- Build Nairobi Sales Force: Lead recruitment of thousands of direct sales agents.
- Build and Support Field Team: Recruit, train, motivate and mentor all Branch and Assistant Managers and ensure they are supported to achieve success.
- Maximize Sales: Rapidly increase the number of agents and sales per agent.
- Maximize Social Impact: Expand the distribution and penetration of life-changing products such as cook stoves, solar lanterns, fortified foods and health and hygiene related products.
- Develop and Manage Marketing, Promotional and Advertising Activities
- Innovation: Generate and deploy innovative tests and promotions that have the opportunity to significantly improve profitability and human impacts.
- Travel: This position is based in Nairobi with significant travel time within the area.
Desired Skills & Experience
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of sales experience in direct selling, retail or wholesale of consumer packaged goods.
- Experience in selling and marketing to low income customers, especially those in informal settlements.
- Experience in recruiting and managing sales agents. Proven track record of exceeding sales and profit targets.
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Strong math and analytical skills. Well versed in MS Excel.
- Outstanding verbal communication and motivational skills.
- Willingness to be in the field, hands-on with Living Goods’ sales force and clients.
