Purpose of Job
To provide strategic direction on British Council’s financial management and decision making; maintain financial systems at the highest standard; contribute to financial planning; provide managers with accurate financial information. As line manager, ensure the provision of efficient and cost-effective administrative services.
Context and Environment
The Finance Manager reports to the Country Director and is responsible for Business support services to ensure delivery of our portfolio of projects in education, English, and examinations is in accordance with British Council financial standards. The post is responsible for line management of one finance officer. Although based in Lilongwe and Blantyre the British Council works with people across the country.
