Organizational Setting |
The Department of Safeguards is the organizational hub for the implementation of IAEA safeguards. The IAEA implements nuclear verification activities for more than 175 States in accordance with their safeguards agreements. The safeguards activities are undertaken within a dynamic and technically challenging environment including advanced nuclear fuel cycle facilities and complemented by the political diversity of the countries. Within the Department of Safeguards, the Office of Information and Communication Systems (SGIS) is the centre of competence for the production and maintenance of ICT systems and for the management of all ICT infrastructure and services to support safeguards. In partnership with other organizational units, SGIS is responsible for planning and implementing an ICT strategy as well as enforcing ICT standards. The Project Section provides project-oriented information and communication technology (ICT) services to all the Divisions and Sections in the Department, working cooperatively with staff in the Operations Divisions and the Support Divisions to plan, establish and maintain information systems and to provide them with system analysis, software development, software contract management and maintenance services. It implements best practices in project management using Capability Maturity Model (CMM) standards and continuously monitors the Department's information-related needs so that they can be translated into requests for new or enhanced functionalities of ICT systems. |
Main Purpose |
Reporting to the Team Leader of the Quality Assurance Team, the IT System Testing Technician assists the team in ensuring compliance of development activities with established Divisional policies, processes, procedures and standards by defining, collecting, and analyzing the quality of the products delivered, as well as by participating in product/service design reviews, testing, configuration control, problem reporting and resolution, and change control. Additionally, he/she provides technical support in the area of the quality control field to the collaborative process of driving and facilitating process improvement efforts in the Division. |
Working Relationships |
The IT System Testing Technician maintains strong cooperation with IAEA project members, in particular with staff of the Department of Safeguards, as well as working with external contractors, reviewing/testing project deliverables and communicating the review results and recommendations to the project teams and to the management. |

Remuneration |
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at €47 536 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), six weeks' annual vacation, pension plan and health insurance. |
