The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has a vacancy based in Vienna, Austria, for a Public Relations Specialist in its Public Relations & Information Department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assists PR Coordinator in executing approved strategies, policies, and programs aimed at enhancing the image of the Secretariat.
- Liaises with Member Country PR experts on PR issues.
- Monitors the newswires for news, analyses, commentaries and opinions about OPEC and makes these available to selected staff of the Secretariat and officials of Member Countries.
- Conducts regular briefings for students and visitors to the Secretariat.
- Monitors monthly oil market report and prepares summaries for the website.
- Explores potential targets for the implementation of the Outreach Programme.
- Conducts regular reviewing of the information on website for necessary update.
- Creates, maintains and updates, as necessary, the lists of journalists, news agencies, analysts, economists, etc.
Requirements:
- University degree in public relations, journalism, media relations or related field.
- Four years of work experience.

- Initiative and integrity
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
Offer:
Commensurate remuneration package (i.e. monthly basic salary of € 3,425 x 12 per year) with tax-free benefits and six weeks annual leave.
