Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) in the Republic of South Sudan aims at working through its implementing partner organisations. Due to the current situation in South Sudan, NCA still has some operational projects and is involved in not only development but also recovery and emergency.
The Country Programme Coordinator is responsible for developing the NCA South Sudan programme together with its partners and for strengthening the relationship to and capacities of these partners.
The Country Programme Coordinator reports to the Country Representative, South Sudan. The position is based in Juba, Republic of South Sudan.
Candidates must be willing to travel regularly to field locations.
Job description
The Country Programme Coordinator is responsible for programme development, programme management, capacity building and quality assurance of programmes in Southern Sudan. S/he is responsible for ensuring alignment of programmes with Norwegian Church Aid's global policies and the Government of the Republic of South Sudan's policies.

Manage the programme planning process, including the budgeting of the individual programmes and projects, within the time frames and formats given.
Provide technical support to the Programme Managers and programme staff in quality assurance of programme implementation, budget control and reporting.
Ensure that all programmes are monitored adequately.
Be responsible for the day to day management of programme staff within the programme unit at Juba and in the field offices.
Identify and develop funding possibilities.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience with programme development and project management
- Experience with planning, implementation, financial/budget control, reporting and evaluation in a post conflict setting
- Experience in management and staff capacity building
- Experience in working through local partners and communities
- Experience from working with ecumenical organisations
- Spoken and written fluency in English
