Job Title: HIV/AIDS Coordinator
Reports to: Program Manager
Duty Station: Bible House, Plot 38 Bombo Road Kampala
JOB PURPOSE:
- Coordination, Planning, Supervision and Implementation of all the HIV/AIDS project activities within the HIV/AIDS project of the Bible Society of Uganda (BSU).
Key Responsibilities:
- To be able to provide technical support to BSU in the implementation of the HIV/AIIDS project within the organization;
- To develop and maintain detailed project schedules that include administrative tasks and support all project beneficiaries and networks participants;
- Develop and maintain new and existing strategic alliances with other key actors in the region, such as women’s rights organisations, child’s rights organisations, LGBTI, PLHIV, the UN and other social justice movements;
- Conceive and develop new research projects in consultation and collaboration with others as well as formulates a long term agenda in that area;
- Prepare periodic project work plans and budgets in conjunction with the Programme Manager and other related activities in liaison with other section heads, to ensure appropriate utilization of project resources;

Requirement:
- Holder or candidate of a master's degree in Public Health or other social sciences from a recognised institution
- Bachelors Degree, or an equivalent, in social sciences,
- Business Administration, management, or finance, AND work experience in the following areas (work experience could have been gained simultaneously, or consecutively)
- Post-graduate Diploma in Project Planning & Management or Human Resource Management an advantage
Competencies
- Must have at least 3 cumulative years of experience non-governmental and development organisations at national and regional levels, managing national-wide or regional projects in gender, HIV, or any related field.
- Must have experience in national public policy formulation and advocacy.
- Must have good track record of human rights advocacy for women, children and young people
- Must be a seasoned trainer and facilitator, with experience in adult learning techniques
- Must have at least 2 years experience in planning, developing and implementing HIV and AIDS programmes
- Must possess well developed writing skills
Person Attributes:
- Must have well developed communication and advocacy skills
- Must hold a valid driving license and have at least four years' clean driving record
- Must be a committed Christian with proven faith standing
- Has the ability to be objective, accommodative and professional In judgment
- Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to individual and cultural differences
- Has good temperament and excellent reconciliatory nature
