DUTY STATION: Morogoro
1. PURPOSE STATEMENT OF THE JOB
• To ensure the Power plant maintains generator capacity to power the factory to run efficiently
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 0 GENERAL CONDITION OF THE GENERATOR;
1.1 Checks for Generator working condition – oil leakage, air and fuel leakages.
1.2 Checks Chemical stock for water treatment
1.3 Checks and requests lubricant oil, and fuel for the generator.
1.4 Observes for abnormal sounds after starting the Generator and during operation
1.5 Allows electricity to the Factory plants.
2;0 DURING OPERATION;
2;1 Up keeps close watch on the running of the Generator.
2;2 Takes action on any observed abnormalities.
2;3 Rectifies abnormalities.
3;0 SUPERVISION
3;1 Supervises the safety of the Plant and staff at the power station.
3;2 Supervises cleanliness of the power station and its surroundings.
3; 3 Appraises work performance of junior operators.
3; 4 Attends workers problems – sick, attendance, placements and replacements.
4; 0 REPORTS
4; 1 Compiles day to day plant operation status.
4; 2 Prepares weekends maintenance roaster.
4;3 Issues reports on fuel and lubricant oils consumption
5; 0 OTHER DUTIES.
5; 1 Develops and demonstrates better ways of technologies of running the Power station.
5; 2 Acts as a Team Leader to other subordinate staff hence managing the performance of the plant as per set Company set goals.
6.0 SAFETY HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT
Ensures that all tasks are performed according to company SHE standards;
Performs any specific SHE tasks or responsibilities as given by the SHE coordinator.
3. JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Tanzanian Examination Council ‘O’ levels
• FTC in Diesel plant maintenance
• 5 – 7 years’ experience
