The Regional Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Advisor, East Africa will facilitate the collaboration among Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) practitioners in National Offices and Support Offices, coordinate training and technical exchange, ensure compatible monitoring and evaluation systems are used and documented, and disseminate lessons learned. You will also advise and provide the Regional Office with a voice and a face on WASH issues especially for the achievement of the child well-being outcomes, and lead Regional grant acquisition and management of WASH programs.
With a proven track record in a fast paced, complex and ideally global organisation, you will have a desire, motivated by your Christian faith, to help others and model ethics in line with the Christian foundations and ethos of the organisation.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• In charge of WASH Learning Center and its operational and financial sustainability
• Develop a Regional WASH Strategy and Work plan for delivering on the child well-being outcomes.
• Network with National Offices and Support Offices, and partner agencies to scale up WASH interventions related to the child well-being outcomes and the Millennium Development Goals.
• Support proposal development and fundraising efforts in the Region. Lead regional/multi-country grant acquisition of WASH programs • Promote cross-learning, training, best practices and sharing of experience in the Region.
REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:
• Masters degree in hydrogeology, geology, development or relevant field. Water, sanitation and health discipline is a plus.
• Ten or more years experience in program management and at least five years working with an NGO or international agency in the field.
• Experience in water, sanitation and hygiene sector is required.
• International development background with time spent in the field. Experience with the international donor community.
