Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall implementation of the research uptake strategies for STEP UP and the Africa Regional SGBV Network.
- Coordinate implementation of the Research Uptake strategies for STEP UP and the Africa Regional SGBV Network, including communication and dissemination.
- Work closely with STEP UP partners to develop and maintain a system for routine monitoring of changes in policy and practices for FP and safe abortion across STEP UP priority countries.
- Maintain a database of all reports, materials, journal articles published and other products generated through STEP UP and the Africa Regional SGBV Network.
- Monitor and document the impact of project activities on decision making for programming and policy, including case studies of success stories and preparing project news.
- Manage the design and production of communication materials by all partners in the two projects.
- Review and revise content for each project website and incorporate new evidence generated.
- Provide support to staff and partners in the production of study-specific reports, synthesis briefs, and manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals.
- Coordinate and support preparation of yearly network/partner meetings, as well as abstract submissions, posters and presentations for conferences.
- Prepare draft annual donor reports.
- In collaboration with project directors, design and implement a system for monitoring and evaluating STEP UP’s research uptake strategy.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a communications-related topic.
- Strong experience in coordinating partnerships and networks with a range of national and international NGOs.
- Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills in English essential, including ability to translate, summarize and communicate research findings (quantitative and qualitative) into non-technical language for decision-makers and the general public.
- Working knowledge of French preferred
- Expertise in management of website content essential; experience with website design is an advantage. Willingness to travel up to 30% time.
