- The Climate Change Officer will coordinate technical support in the implementation of climate change related disasters in programs, which reflects Oxfam’s poverty, gender and rights based focus, linking work with other organisations.
- The post holder will work closely with and support Kenya Programme and it’s partners on climate change in line with the Programme’s strategic direction.
- You will ensure that Oxfam’s climate change response in Kenya is informed by and supports existing good practices; contributes to Oxfam International’s global initiatives to climate change and improves Oxfam’s global advocacy alliance building around climate change.
- You will manage information documentation and dissemination for learning within and without the programme.
- To be successful in this role you will have a degree in social science, environmental sciences or other development related field, with proven effective work experience in climate change work coupled with extensive experience in advocacy and networking.
- You will have strong analytical skills; competence in participatory learning and action approaches.
- Exposure to the NGO working environment is essential.
- You will be required to have well developed interpersonal and team skills, good written and spoken English as well as be organised and able to keep clear and concise records.
