The Finance Assistant provides administrative and accounting support to the Finance & Operations Team, specifically the Director of Finance & Operations and the Financial Manager. The position will serve as a key liaison between our subcontractor, Development International, Inc. (DI) and IRH/GU, and will: 1) facilitate interpersonal and inter-organizational communication; and 2) strengthen the operational link between two sets of financial ledgers managed by DI and GU.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with procurement
• Review invoices and payment information to ensure validity and accuracy
• Review monthly reports for accuracy and allowable expenses
• Review Travel Expense Reports for accuracy and reconciliation of expenses
• Enter invoices and other transactions in QuickBooks
• Prepare agreements for DI vendors/consultants
• Maintain filing system
• Respond to financial inquiries
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
• QuickBooks or similar system experience
• 2-3 years’ experience in bookkeeping, preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access, required
