The Procurement and Supply Chain Coordinator is located in the Procurement Services Branch (PSB) of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Copenhagen. The incumbent reports to and receives guidance and policy support from the Chief, PSB, who leads and manages the Procurement Services Branch of UNFPA.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise regional team leads • Provide procurement advice to the various team leads dealing with operational and transaction procurement activities in their respective regions • Ensure critical procurement activities are undertaken by the various teams (e.g. evaluation of performance of critical suppliers, adherence to procurement policy and procedures, etc.) • Manage workload between the various regional teams • Ensure consistent work approach and processes between the various regional teams
Coordinate procurement activities • Actively promote two-way communication between PSB and Operation managers, Advisors, Representatives, etc. in country and regional offices, as well as with headquarters units • Identify possible gaps between procurement procedures and field realities and consult with other stakeholders (e.g. Finance branch, ICT, etc.) to identify appropriate solutions • Identify new products for inclusion in long term agreements (LTAs) and communicate with the Contract team for the establishment of LTAs • Ensure all business units involved directly or indirectly in procurement activities work collaboratively and manage procurement information and knowledge disseminated throughout the organization in order to improve processes and address specific procurement issues • Identify suitable IT solutions for procurement activities • Identify third party procurement opportunities in all regions and suggest strategies to develop further third party procurement activities • Give advice and guidance to country offices and other parties on procurement and supply chain issues • Collect feedback from internal and external clients and use KPIs to measure the performance of the procurement teams
Deal with global procurement and supply chain issues • Put in place a logistics strategy, aligned to the global procurement and supply chain strategy, for humanitarian and non humanitarian operations • Liaise with the various logistics and technical advisers, operation managers, program staff and other stakeholders at country and regional level, as well as at headquarters, to identify supply chain issues and appropriate solutions and best practices (related to custom clearance, warehousing, procurement inputs during programming activities, etc.) • Identify partners in order for UNFPA to effectively deal with supply chain matters, such as in-country logistics and pre-positioning of supplies • Actively participate in procurement discussions and provides inputs to the Reproductive Health Supply Coalition in order to tackle supply chain issues in a strategic way

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Advanced university degree in business administration, procurement or related field. • 7 years of post graduate progressively responsible experience in procurement operations in a multi-cultural environment of which 3 years are at the international level. • Experience in UN procurement and knowledge of UN operations. Good working knowledge of MS Office and experience with ERP system Experience within the UN System is an asset. Experience in working with international procurement and supply chain desirable • Knowledge of reproductive health related commodities and medical terminology an asset. • Procurement accreditation (such as CIPS) an asset Fluency in English, knowledge of other official UN languages an asset.
