Health Unlimited (HU) works with some of the poorest and most marginalised communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America, often in very difficult environments. We work to enable these communities to achieve improvements to their health, promoting this as one of their fundamental human rights.
Under the overall technical and management guidance and supervision of the Nairobi-based Horn of Africa Regional Area Programme Manager (APM) and support from the London based Deputy Head of Africa Programmes, the Country Programme Manager (CPM) will be responsible for managing the country program. We currently have three projects focussing on sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, and maternal and child health in South Omo – Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR) and Bale Zone of Oromia Region, and Dollo Ado, Liben Zone of Somali Region funded by EC, the Big Lottery Fund, and Comic Relief. We are currently seeking to expand our Ethiopia programme. Our projects are implemented primarily through local partners, with support from the Country Program Manager (CPM) and other staff members in the Country Office.
The CPM will provide leadership, representation, and technical programme support and ensure project delivery, with high quality outputs, accuracy and consistency including continued monitoring of implementation. The CPM leads the country program team and works in close collaboration with the local partners and the Ethiopian Government in the development and implementation of the country Programme
We want hear from you if you have at least 5 years experience as a health and/or development manager, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa; if you have significant proven development programmes experience with governments, INGO, NGOs, related to health; if you have extensive knowledge and experience of project accounting, budgeting and financial management ; have excellent communication skills - with an ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy and to manage conflict; if you are committed to working with marginalized communities, and you are fluent in English.
