Qualified candidates will have successfully led projects resulting in:
Broadened support for civil society and advocacy efforts that provided constructive oversight to local governments;
Stronger procurement and auditing procedures at the local level;
Greater transparency and accountability in public service delivery, budgeting, and planning at the local level; and
Requirement:
Position Qualifications:
Master’s degree in international development, public administration, law, social sciences, or other relevant field required;
Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in planning and managing highly complex democracy and governance programs;
Prior USAID chief-of-party or deputy-chief-of-party experience strongly preferred;
Experience in and knowledge of Uganda, its people, and its local governing mechanisms preferred; experience in Sub-Saharan Africa required.
Fluency in English required.
Demonstrated experience working closely with and supporting governments in conflict or state-building conditions.
