Located in the Laverton Gold region, AngloGold Ashanti Australia's Sunrise Dam is Western Australia's premier gold mine. This open pit and underground operation employs more than 600 people and produces 400,000 oz of gold per annum. Anglo Gold Ashanti is currently seeking an Underground Mine Planning Engineer to join our Underground team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.
Accountable to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer, your tasks will include but not limited to:
- Convert conceptual design plans to final design ensuring adequate financial evaluations are carried for Development design, Stope design and all other infrastructure
- Create final designs in accordance with company procedures to ensure all risks are adequately considered. Review of company procedures will be required from time to time.
- Provide input to both the 7/21 operations schedule as well as the 3 month forecast.
- Ensure authorised designs are delivered on time as defined by the mine schedules.
- Monitor and provide feedback to operations personnel to ensure effective link between the planning and operational functions.
- Interact with other departments to ensure effective communication within the Mining Department.
- Undertake specific mining projects as required.
- Keep management informed and shares information across the Company. Provides well thought out, concise and timely oral and written information.
Those who demonstrate the below skills/experience, will be highly regarded:
- A degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent is required.
- A thorough understanding of mine planning computer applications with hands on experience with Vulcan, Datamine, Mine24D and EPS.
- Competency with general Microsoft computer software products.
- Very good analytical, planning and prioritising skills combined with the ability to utilise the knowledge gained.
- Innovative, have a strong desire to succeed and a demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
