The Regional Human resource officer will be the key business partner in people management and organization transformation, providing technical support to specialists and managers from other sectors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To act as the HR resource person/coach to the regional manager and the team on people management issues based on WVI priorities, national labour legislation and generally accepted professional standards.
2. To support the program design phase through leveraging and integrating key people related issues in the design phases of the program.
3. To submit comprehensive and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reports of HR status to the regional management and to HR and OD Division.
4. To manage recruitment, salary requisition at the region
5. To coordinate the implementation of Human resource policies, processes and systems and projects at the region in tandem with WVI and WV established protocols and practices.
6. To manage, implement a strategic resourcing plan for the region addressing staffing requirements of the various programs and projects with a focus on the Sudanisation as per WV Sudan strategy.
7. To promote staff wellness programs including Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), monitoring compliance to R&R schedules and leave; and other recreational activities as provided for in the WV Africa staff wellness priorities
8. To support and monitor an intentional skills transfer/mentorship scheme by international staff as part of Sudanisation and succession planning; and as approved by WVS management.
9. To manage orientation, induction and career development systems for National staff in line with staff development and capacity building plans of WVS.
10. To participate in the design and implementation of capacity building/training programs at the regional level as approved by WVS management and the regional team.
11. To provide technical back up training and coaching support to Human resource assistants in the region on effective people management techniques as per learning and development needs and identified.
12. Participate in staff spiritual formation activities and take leadership when requested.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
A bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational psychology, Organization Development, Business management (with a bias in Human Resources Management) or in any other related field.
A minimum of 1 year NGO experience in human resource management preferably in an emergency relief set-up.
Ability to function as a technical expert and an effective business partner
Demonstrated experience in facilitating staff training and capacity building.
Experience in use of electronic HR systems and high level computer skills especially in databases and spreadsheets.
Strong communication skills both written and oral.
Willing to travel and work in harsh environments.
Have the ability and interest to build and sustain collaborative relationships.
Have the ability to influence individuals and groups to achieve quality results and service.
Ability to multi-task and think clearly, deeply and broadly
