Joining the Energy Market Research & Economics team in this key role, your expert analysis will help identify the impact of economic, technological and environmental developments on the energy sector and develop the regulatory framework of key aspects of the wholesale electricity and gas markets. Our recent projects include energy scenario modelling (Ofgem’s Project Discovery), applying of behavioural economics to energy markets and the review of the methodology and modelling tools for setting incentives on the System Operators.
To be successful, you must have a degree in economics or engineering (or a closely related science or social science degree) of 2.1 or higher. Your excellent analytical/quantitative skills and a good understanding of economic principles are vital, as are strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly. It is also essential that you possess the ability to take initiative, think creatively and work independently.
