The post holder will be responsible for developing and growing the fundraising capabilities of local individuals and NGOs, working with the global team in order to meet organisational strategic objectives, producing work-plans, identifying strategic partnerships and managing and leading on the delivery of programmes. The Resource Alliance is an international charity registered in England and Wales, and has 501c3 status in the US JOB PROFILE The Country Representative (India) is responsible for leading on the effective implementation and development of the learning and development India strategy, which contributes to the organisational strategy and 4 key objectives to; 1. Develop and strengthen the capacity of individuals and organisations to fundraise / mobilise resources through high quality services 2. Raise standards by learning about and promoting best practice 3. Influence and inspire philanthropy through our networks and strategic alliances 4. Ensure the Resource Alliance thrives as a successful and stable organisation Responsible for: • Working with the India Board and Head of Learning and Development to plan the programme • Working with the Resource Alliance India team to ensure that roles and responsibilities are clear and team objectives successfully met • Working with the global learning and development and wider Resource Alliance team in order to meet organisational strategic objectives • Producing appropriate and well-informed work plans and budgets • Identifying opportunities for strategic partnerships • Managing and leading the delivery of the programme • Raising funds for programmes and securing consulting contracts • Managing local legal and financial processes working with the Board and accountants MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: The India office has three main programme areas: tailored capacity development, accredited courses offered in partnership with management institutes and the India NGO Awards. The Resource Alliance is further seeking to strategically develop and expand its capacity development activities in Asia. 1. Develop and strengthen the capacity of individuals and organisations to fundraise / mobilise resources through high quality services; • Ensure successful and effective implementation of agreed plans including: - The International Workshops on Resource Mobilisation Asia 2011 - The courses in Fundraising & Communication - The NGO Awards programmes in India - Delivery of all contracts • Develop and grow the regional and programme strategy and prepare related plans and budgets • Plan for development and expansion of the diploma and 20 day courses including marketing and fundraising for them • Develop the scope of the Resource Alliance tailored capacity development service, including securing new contracts and managing delivery. • Investigate new markets and offerings to respond to the needs of the sector • Ensure that pitches, proposals and agreements are of high standards 2. Raise standards by learning about and promoting best practice; • Ensure optimum impact of the programme in India and worldwide • Research and communicate; o current and emerging fundraising tools and techniques o current and emerging capacity development and learning methodology o innovations in philanthropy and new models of social investment • Oversee and manage the production of all reports, papers, and other information outputs • Ensure that information produced is of high quality and disseminated as appropriate, internally and externally, making use of existing infrastructure. • Identify and propose other knowledge management tools that would improve Resource Alliance capacity to share skills and knowledge, internally and externally • Produce and regularly upgrade materials for presentations, training manuals etc 3. Influence and inspire philanthropy through our networks and strategic alliances • Manage relationships with various stakeholders, including clients, educational institutions, NGO networks, funders and others • Investigate opportunities to influence and inspire philanthropy such as new and existing forums and platforms 4.
