The World Health Organization and the UNDP/UNFPA/WHO/World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction (HRP) are seeking to fill the position of

DIRECTOR, REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RESEARCH

Managing a biennial budget of USD 80 million and a team of 80 scientific and support staff worldwide, the Director will play a key role in advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights within the international development agenda. Based at WHO’s headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, the Director will:

  • develop and implement innovative approaches to improve sexual and reproductive health globally, in particular in low- and medium-income countries;
  • lead the agenda on implementation and other research to advance sexual and reproductive health;
  • promote the application of research evidence into sexual and reproductive health and strengthen the gender and human rights dimensions of policies and programmes;
  • play a key role in the promotion and coordination of international action on sexual and reproductive health and research, including capacity strengthening.

The successful candidate will have an advanced degree in a health-related field with a postgraduate qualification related to sexual and reproductive health, and at least 10 years of experience in research and research management, including at international level.
