Position: Livelihood Specialist (Re-advertised)
Reports to: Director, Ministry Quality
Duty Station: National Office
Location: Kampala
Purpose of position:
Providing technical advice to WVU and supporting programs/projects in planning, designing, monitoring and evaluating livelihoods interventions.
Key Result Areas:
■ Support WVU National Office in developing sustainable livelihoods security strategies.
■ Provide technical advice on best practices and approaches to sustainable livelihoods programming.
■ Provide technical backstopping on livelihoods intervention/program implementation and document lessons learned.
■ Support WVU to develop and use innovative approaches to monitor and evaluate the performance, effectiveness/impacts of livelihoods interventions. 1 Assist in monitoring the implementation of the livelihoods security strategies.
■ Support fund raising activities through networking, proposal and concepts development (as necessary) for livelihoods interventions.
■ Build and strengthen effective relations and partnerships between WVU and actors on livelihoods for networking and cross learning to enrich WV livelihoods programs/ interventions.
■ Support food Security and livelihood response
programming in emergency contexts • Identify the needs and organize trainings to develop the capacity of WVU staff and partners to increase their competence in sustainable livelihoods.
• Participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of new livelihoods program/project staff.
• Assist in developing terms of reference (TOR) for WVU livelihoods consultants.
• Represent WVU in livelihoods forums- meetings, workshops, conferences and contribute to technical interactions and discussions on the same.
Requirement:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
■ At least a Bachelor degree in Agriculture or related fields and post graduate qualification in rural economy (agricultural economics, agribusiness, or other development oriented fields)
Project proposal writing and documentation skills
Good communication and networking skills
At least a 5-year hands-on experience in designing and managing sustainable food security/livelihood interventions
Training facilitation and coordination skills
Research, monitoring and evaluation skills
Salary: - USD/month
