Job Title: LECTURER - UGANDA STUDIES PROGRAM DEPARTMENT Salary: CU6

Job Purpose:
To teach in the Uganda Studies Program and coordinate additional courses, experiential learning, and co-curricular activities.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
Academic Responsibilities
1 Teach in 'Faith & Action in the Ugandan Context' course (responsible for 2 credits per semester/4 credits per year).
2 Lead the teaching of 'Cross-Cultural Ministry Practicum' (responsible for 2 credits per semester/4 credits per year).
3 Supervise cross-cultural practicum field placements.
4 4. Assist in coordinating social work practicum field placements.
5 Coordinate core and elective courses offered by USP
6 Work on weekends and outside of regular office hours including overnight travel (up to 50 nights per year)
Academic Travel & Activities
1. Plan, coordinate, and co-lead an academic trip each semester.
2. Plan, coordinate, and co-lead a rural home stay experience each semester.
3. Plan, coordinate, and co-lead up to two weekend academic trips each semester.
Administration
1 Take an active role in leadership of the orientation seminars each semester.
2. Take an active role in leadership of the debrief retreat each semester.
3. Any other official duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Job requirement
Qualifications and experience:
1. Hold a Masters Master's degree in field related to education, ministry, or intercultural studies. ',
2. Two (2) years work or educational experience related to experiential education in a cross -cultural setting.
3. Ability to articulate principles of experiential education and apply them in a cross-cultural context.
4. Personal faith in Jesus Christ and ability to articulate integration of faith into vocational calling.
5. Excellent command of English language demonstrated in writing.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
7. Residing in Mukono or nearby towns would be an added advantage
