RESEARCH AND HIGHER EDUCATION (NAIROBI, KENYA)

The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) is seeking two accomplished and dynamic individuals to provide intellectual leadership and operational guidance as Directors for PASGR’s Research and Higher Education Programmes.

PASGR is a not-for-profit organisation based in Nairobi that seeks to enable African social science researchers to produce and communicate quality research that will contribute knowledge to African governance and poverty reduction. PASGR also works with African universities to strengthen the provision of graduate-level education by enriching the teaching and practice of social science research for public policy in Africa. For example, it is currently working with 16 universities in 9 countries to develop a collaborative masters programme in research for public policy.

Ideal Director candidates will have proven leadership experience in academia and research focused on Africa, with a record of distinguished achievement regionally and/or internationally that demonstrates the ability to successfully develop, manage and lead innovative research, or higher education activities across the continent.

PASGR is also seeking candidates with exceptional higher education and policy-oriented research backgrounds to serve as coordinators. Candidates for these positions will report to the above Directors and/or PASGR’s Manager of Policy, Outreach and Training. Coordinators will have an unprecedented opportunity to make significant contributions to new and innovative capacity building initiatives in the region.
