Description
PwC has for several years been involved in large audit-framework contracts for the EU institutions. Our Belgian firm plays a lead role in coordinating and managing many of these contracts on behalf of the PwC network worldwide. In this context, we are looking for an experienced auditor at manager level to take responsibility for leading the audit team dedicated to performance audit and audit-related assignments for the EU institutions.
Under the supervision of the Audit Partner in charge, you will:
- be responsible for executing audit and audit-related assignments. This includes: preparing the proposals, liaising with the network, executing the audit assignment, drafting the reports, holding meetings with the Commission, follow-up until submission of the final report to the European Commission, etc.
- be responsible for supervising, briefing and evaluating the team assisting you on each assignment (Europe or worldwide) and reviewing their work
- develop tools and strategies to ensure continuous improvement of the services offered to the European Commission.
You will be supported by a strong coordination team dedicated to managing these contracts with the European Commission and other EU institutions.
Qualifications
You have:
- A minimum of 5 years' audit experience is a must
- Experience in performing audits or assessments of external aid operations financed by the Commission (a must)
- Good experience in performing audits of EC funds and thorough knowledge of EC financial rules and regulations
- Experience with IFAC standards, in particular International Standards on Auditing
- Relevant managerial experience in leading audit teams
- Fluent knowledge (speaking and writing) of English and French. Knowledge of the following languages is desirable: Dutch, Spanish and/or Portuguese.
- You are willing to travel abroad (mainly outside Europe) - estimated time spent travelling = 30-40%
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong ability to lead a multidisciplinary, multicultural team
- Ability to juggle different tasks at the same time and adhere to instructions and deadlines
