Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs analytical tasks and duties as requested by the Head of the Jurisdiction, Complementarity and Cooperation Division (JCCD) and the Head of the Situation Analysis Section;
- Undertakes analysis of matters relating to jurisdiction, admissibility and the interests of justice in relation to situations under analysis or opened for investigation;
- Participates in the evaluation of the information received on situations where crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court have allegedly been committed, with a view, in particular, to assess jurisdiction of the Court
- Evaluates the extent to which relevant national proceedings may be have taken place and their genuineness in terms of Article 17 of the Rome Statute
- Assists in evaluating the interests of justice under Article 53 of the Rome Statute, with a special emphasis on assessing the interests of victims
- Undertakes contextual analysis in relation to situations under analysis or under investigation;
- Liaises as appropriate with national authorities, representatives of relevant national and international organizations and non-governmental organisations;
- Contributes to the development of communication and outreach activities and to interaction with victims, including representing the OTP in meetings with local communities, civil society and other relevant groups;
- Perform any other duties as required.
Essential Qualifications
- University degree in law or international relations;
- At least 4 years working experience (2 years if in possession of a Master's degree), at the national and/or international level preferably as an analyst or equivalent academic qualifications;
- Analyst training desirable;
- Excellent ability to undertake legal and contextual analysis (in particular to deal effectively with large document collections or complex systemic facts), including the effective preparation of reports, recommendations, charts and illustrations;
- Excellent communication skills, adaptability and flexibility;
- Good organisational skills including managing conflicting priorities and working with tight deadlines;
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds;
- Professional and personal integrity.
Knowledge of Languages
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is required. Working knowledge of the other language is highly desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court would be considered an asset. (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish)

The selected candidate will be subject to a Personnel Security Clearance (PSC) process in accordance with ICC policy. The PSC process will include but will not be limited to, verification of the information provided in the personal history form and a criminal record check;
