CTSU is one of the world's leading centres for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of chronic diseases such as heart, renal disease and cancer. We have several large scale studies and clinical trials that involve large numbers of blood samples. The CTSU Wolfson laboratories are an accredited laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025:2005) with a critical role in receiving, processing and providing long-term storage of these samples. In addition, the laboratory has considerable expertise in developing reliable high-throughput methods for blood analysis using state-of-the-art technologies and extensive computer automation.
You will have a key role in the laboratory's research programme. Current investigations include biomarkers in dried blood spots, stability studies and assay development for large-scale epidemiological studies. You should have a good science degree in biochemistry, clinical chemistry or related subject and extensive experience of medical laboratory research, including analytical assay techniques, method development and data analysis.
In return, we offer 30 days annual leave, a competitive salary and a final salary pension scheme. Please note that final appointment will be subject to pre-employment screening.
