Universities in North Carolina founded RTI in 1958 as the first scientific organization in and centerpiece of the Research Triangle Park. We are seeking to recruit various seasonal district & sector positions for the Rwanda Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) project in Gasabo, Nyagatare, Kicukiro, Nyanza, Bugesera, Kiretie, and Nyarugenge districts as part of a large regional support program funded by the US Presidents Malaria Initiative (PMI) through USAID. These positions will be based at various district locations in Rwanda.
Logistics assistants (7)
Specific Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of the Logistics Officer facilitate the purchase of required commodities in field stations by obtaining quotes.
- Ensure proper management of district warehouse in accordance with RT1 and USAID regulations
- Ensure fuel o supplied on time and in right quantities for project vehicles in all activity areas within the district.
- Ensure vehicle log books are completed accurately by drivers.
- Oversees the district logistics operation in the absence of the Logistics Officer and project Logistics Assistant
- Ensure regular follow up of the hired project vehicles in the filed and solicit other vehicles when required for project activities In liaison with the District Coordinator and Logistics Officer.
- Collect supply requests from project sites and liaise with the Logistics Officer and District Coordinator to monitor progress of dispatch of requested supplies to field warehouses and stores.
- Plan and organise daily and weekly projections of logistics needs and movement
- Followup materials sent to the field and give a feedback on the status closely working with both district storekeepers and warehouse persons.
- Assist in carrying out a quarterly inventory of all RT1 equipment and stocks and report to the Logistics Officer.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finances or a related field.
- Minimum Vocational training in logistics. procurement, supplies and management
- At least 1.5 year plus 6 months supervisory experience in handling basic Logistic and procurement issues in an established organizations
- Willingness to work long hours
